Why GRAPH

The excuse of public health is being used nowadays to restrict the people in lockdowns. Hence public health can also be the weapon of the people to throw away the shackles. Public health is not only for the government and the experts. An integral part of public health is also about people, their life, their opinions. The giant multinational corporations have barged onto public health to escape their crisis of lack of super profits. Thus, making public health devoid of the public, will serve capital, and not people. Thus again, for an organisation to be a public health organisation, it has to be an organisation of the people, where the experts will be only a part. Organisations of health care delivery and related experts differ in their very orientation from a public health organisation. People from different sections of society have thus felt the necessity of GRAPH.

Our Views

The state, the large and super large corporations, and the super states (like the UN, the WHO etc.), usually do not care about the people or their opinions. These agencies have suddenly become so concerned about public health that we are struck with awe. And in awe we saw that armed with this concern for public health, they locked us down. What is public health, what benefits the people, how were we locked down and how can we throw away the shackles have all been discussed in 'Our Views'. This section  will take you to the viewpoints developed by GRAPH, its understandings and the articles that are essential in developing those understandings.

Opinion

In this era of pandemic many individuals and organisations are studying public health, related fields and some seemingly unrelated matters, which have deep significance in public life. These studies and opinions may give you some Food for thought. These can help in forming an understanding of the common thread, the cause and effect relationship among the events that are taking place around us.

Expert Speak

Whether it is the COVID pandemic or public health in general, the approaches of experts have definite styles of their own; maybe because of their specialised knowledge and trainings. We have kept this page for them to express their opinions in their own ways.

Rights

For the people, public health is less about individual health and treatment and more about the rights of the health care delivery system, more about the rights of getting proper health care, rights about choosing the types of health care, and also the right to deny healthcare (as has been made evident by the state nowadays). All these constitute our page – Rights.

Mass Movement

The responsibility of GRAPH does not end with voicing its opinions and analyses on the pandemic in particular or public health in general. GRAPH has already associated itself with some programmes in developing the understanding of the people, as also in defending our rights on the basis of common understandings with other organisations. Mass Movement focuses on these activities.

Statistics

Data on COVID cases, data on vaccine related adverse events in particular, as released by the union and state governments, is a black spot on data science, a black spot on statistics itself. People have only been panick stricken by these data sets. Thus, to bring back transparency, we have brought you data and statistics  as resources for the understanding of public health.

Resource

Organisations and individual initiatives the world over are studying public health, day in and day out.  The new spurious theories in the name of science are pushing terror deep into our minds, and making us unlearn the basic tenets of science that we have learnt down the road from the past. In contradistinction, the above mentioned efforts are focussing on the public responsibilities of science, building theory for the public. But, theory has to be based on data, information and experts' opinions. This page contains such resources.

Anyone may use the ideas and opinions of GRAPH, published in this website. We will just appreciate the information on that use. We do however have many articles or opinions that are not owned by GRAPH, but that are the responsibility of by individual authors, because we have felt that these are important for our discourse. We publish these articles and opinions with explicit consent from the authors. However, we cannot take the responsibility of giving consent for sharing those articles and opinions. We welcome reactions on any article and opinion published in this website. In this regard, it is our request that the reaction should be on the subject of the article or opinion. Whether the reaction supports or opposes the outlook of the article or opinion, the reaction should rather add something new and should hold firm ground among its sources of information.
